Capitol Bridge is seeking a Accounting Manager to join our growing team.
Job Overview
The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's financial health and ensuring accurate and efficient accounting operations. This position involves leading an accounting team, managing financial processes, and providing strategic financial insights to guide critical business decisions. The Accounting manager will also ensure compliance with legal financial requirements and actively explore opportunities for growth and cost savings, with a particular emphasis on government contracting.
Location: Remote (preferred location in CST or EST areas)
Pay and Benefits:
Salary Range: $120,000 – $170,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Responsibilities
Ownership and oversight of accounting operations, including managing the accounting team and relevant processes (including financial reports and budgets)
Assist management with critical financial decisions
Prepare financial documents such as business reports, forecasts, and statements to assess the company's financial health
Stay up to date on financial market trends to maximize profits and explore new expansion areas, especially in government contracting
Ensure the company meets legal financial requirements and maintains a good financial standing.
Assist with financial audits
Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and accounting standards.
Ensure compliance with government contract requirements, including cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Manage the preparation and submission of financial reports, invoices, and supporting documentation to government agencies.
Provide financial guidance and support to senior management, identifying risks and opportunities.
Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of accounting experience required
2+ years of people management experience required
Strong business acumen with attention to detail required
Effective communication skills to discuss financial matters with co-workers and management and justify financial recommendations required
Strong organizational and project management skills required
Preferred Qualifications
Government contracting experience preferred
Experience in both corporate and public accounting preferred
CPA certification preferred
