Capitol Bridge Inc is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team. The accountant will be responsible for collecting, tracking and correcting financial information, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial insights and recommendations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. 

Location: Remote (preferred location in CST or EST areas) 

 

Pay and Benefits: 
Base Rate: $70,000 to $90,000 depending on qualifications.

Job Responsabilities: 

  • Recordkeeping: Accurately recording all financial transactions and reconciling accounts.  

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other reports.  

  • Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify areas for improvement, assess risk, and provide financial advice.  

  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and preparing tax returns.  

  • Internal Controls: Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.  

  • Budgeting: Developing and managing budgets.  

  • Financial Advisory: Providing financial advice to businesses and individuals on matters such as investment decisions, risk management, and financial planning 

  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure employee data is up to date and accurate. 

  • Assist in developing and maintaining finance-related metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). 

  • Compliance and Reporting: 

  • Stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and best practices. 

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor and tax laws, including the preparation and submission of required reports and filings. 

  • Collaborate with auditors during audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and readily accessible. 

  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial software systems or upgrades. 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. 

  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting financial system issues and enhancements. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, operations, and IT, to ensure smooth operations. 

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. 

  • Proven experience as a corporate Accountant or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial processes, regulations, and compliance. 

  • Proficiency in payroll/financial software and systems. Experience with major financial software platforms is preferred. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and perform data analysis. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. 

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations. 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
